Hospitalized Vets

Working with Veterans at the Durham VA Medical Center

As a patriotic organization, we do more than just say we are patriotic.  We do things to serve those who have served their country.

In partnership with the C.V. Cummings Chapel Hill Post 9100, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., we visit hospitalized veterans who are not able to leave the hospital.  We spend time with them by providing BINGO nights.  The VFW Post provides the funding, we provide the time.  The Post funds the events for two reasons:  (1) They raise money through Buddy Poppy distribution for this purpose and (2) many of our assembly members are also members of the local post.  They perform double duty.
